Hey everyone, I am Katelyn Bean, the owner and lead photographer of Country Roots Photography. 

My business is based out of the small town in Pennsylvania that I grew up in.  I attended Cochranton Area High School and Crawford County Vo-Tech. I graduated with a diploma and certification in Automotive Technology.  

Growing up in a family full of mechanics, it's only natural that I be a motorhead.  I have always enjoyed the loud sounds engines make and learning different things about vehicles.  I started my Photography journey in high school as a fun pass time.  In  2016, a friend of mine asked me to go to the pulls at my hometown fair to take photos at the truck and tractor pulls…and I was hooked.  There is just something about the adrenaline rush I get being on the track.

 In 2017, I decided to make my hobby and dream a reality. That is when Country Roots Photography was born.  Soon after, Northwest PA Truck and Tractor Pulling Association asked me to photograph their events. I followed them to every pull that summer. In 2021, I reached out to Full Pull Productions / USA East Pulling about potentially photographing for them. After some discussion and planning they agreed! The next thing I knew we were being signed on every year to photograph for both associations. In 2023, we signed on a race car for the season as a trial run, which now has expanded into more motorsports events. Country Roots Photography is now solely based on motorsports, however, we will also still photograph portrait photos when asked. 

Along with running County Roots, I also work a full time job in the mental health field and help out at my family's automotive business.

My Team:

In 2018 I brought on another photographer to help with such a busy season planned. Tay had begun helping at about the middle of the season, he advanced fairly quickly and was off at events by himself.

In 2023 I expanded the business and added on two more photographers to help capture more events. Megan started shadowing at the racetrack for our race car driver that we signed a sponsorship deal with. Daytona started shadowing Tay at the truck and tractor pulling events with the associations we work alongside. Megan and Daytona both within a few events were sent on their own to photograph by themselves.
